The original pair of these leather mule slippers belonged to Confederate General Obadiah Jennings Wise of Virginia and were captured with his trunk following his death at the battle of Roanoke Island and later presented to Sergeant Richard Williams of the 51st Pennsylvania Infantry. These mules make a great slip on shoe for around the home or in camp, when the necessity to leave the tent or bivouac might not call for taking the time to lace up your brogans or pull on cold and stiff boots. Our reproductions are made from high quality leather, feature a flat sole (no heel) and are available in natural or black. Currently being sold in an in stock basis only, so if your size isn't available, please sign up for our In Stock Notification emails and we'll let you know when we have more in stock!
