We are excited to be offering a reproduction of an original mid-19th century match safe from our collection. The reproduction is made from silver plated brass, as the original, and has correct construction, identical to the original, throughout the piece. It has the striking grid at the bottom of the safe to aid in striking matches, just as the original. We're not aware of anyone else that has reproduced these, so are excited to be offering such a unique piece to the living history and museum community!

Very nice little matchsafe
Really nice quality and practicality. No longer have to worry about matchboxes getting smashed up or losing matches.

Very nice, heavy duty match safe. Will fit standard strike anywhere matches. The latch pops open a little too easily if bumped, but overall a good, durable case.

This is a great upgrade from the square, tin match safes you normally see at sutlers (which I’ve never seen a 19th C. original of). Holds an entire book of matches and the strike face works really well with strike anywhere matches.

Just what I've been looking for!
I have several original match safes, but don't like to carry them in the field. This repro fills the bill very well. Fits well in the pocket and makes a nice interpretive prop, since very few people today know what a match safe is.
