"Barlow" Style Pocket Knife - Bone Handle with Shield

We are excited to finally be offering an exclusive reproduction pocket knife that provides a more period look, quality materials, and quality blade for under $20!  These knives are made exclusively for us and are a style that was commonly seen during the Civil War and mid-19 century.  The blades are the same quality carbon steel that our 18th century knife blades are made from.  The pocket knife measures 3.5 inches long closed and 6 inches open.

A great quality item that is much in need today, all for a great price!

    Barlow style knife

Very pretty, handy and well-made knife. My first pocket knife, almost 50 years ago, was a Barlow (not nearly so nice as this one, I hasten to add.) This will ride in my pocket for upcoming events. The blade is sharp, the scales fit nicely and the shield is a great touch. I gave it a quick patina so it looked like a well-loved piece and am ready to go.

    A well done replica Barlow

It has been hard to find a sturdy practical Barlow style knife with a sharp carbon steel blade, carbon steel liners and bolsters, natural bone handles, and a pinned on shield for $20! Finish is above what one generally finds on many original early-mid 19th century Sheffield export knives of this type destined for "the working classes." Also as it should be historically, fit is workmanlike rather than elegant. Everything one could want in a period appropriate knife to use for daily cutting chores.
