This pocket knife is made from an original example found at Fortress of Louisbourg in Nova Scotia.  Our reproduction is faithfully made as the original with wooden handle, brass pin and carbon still blade, with no nail indention.  The blades are good quality steel and can be sharpened and will hold an edge.  The large measures 7" with blade opened and 4" with it closed.

Excellent quality, no silly "made in ???" on the blade, well finished.

A very good reproduction of a peasant type knife often found throughout Europe and in New France. The thumb rest on the carbon steel blade is welded on the tang, rather than forged as one piece to save considerably on cost. This gives a great functional working copy for the re-enactor. The blade takes a keen edge, and there is enough exposed tang behind the edge to control the blade from folding during food prep or other chores. Makes a practical period patch knife, ready carry in a pouch or possibles bag. Thanks again the Chris and SUM for providing a well executed reproduction.

While I haven't yet had a chance to put this knife to use, it seems like a well made product. Fit & finish are good. And from illustrations I've seen, seems to be a well designed replica.
