This pocket knife is made from an original example found at Fortress of Louisbourg in Nova Scotia.  Our reproduction is faithfully made as the original with wooden handle, brass pin and carbon still blade, with no nail indention.  The blades are good quality steel and can be sharpened and will hold an edge.  The large measures 9" with blade opened and 5" with it closed.

    Very nice knife!

The knife is exactly what I was looking for. I especially like the way the blade is held open with my thumb. The only reason I did not give a 5 star review is that the knife tip does not quite sit inside the handle groove. If you look at the photo carefully, you can see what I mean. It is a tiny difference, but I worry it could snag a loose thread. This is a knife I can use, not just prop piece.

Great little knife built true to history for a great price. Handle is solid and blade takes a good edge, the brass rivet hold solid. Made to last.

    18th Century knife

If you are looking for a good knife for reenacting the 18th (or even the mid 19th) Century, this is the knife. It take a bit of getigng use to that it is not spring loaded nor a lockback. It does, however stay closed when closed. I did sharpen it a bit, but greatly enjoy this knife.
